The French harpsichordist, Anne-Catherine Bucher, studied the harpsichord with Michèle Dévérité and the organ with Norbert Pétry in Metz. She perfected her technique under the tutelage of Robert Kohnen at the Brussels Royal Conservatory, and at the CNSM (National Superior Conservatory of Music) in Lyon with Françoise Lengellé, Huguette Dreyfus and Jesper Christensen.
She has been a member of the Compania Musical (Director: Josep Cabré) and of the Concert Brisé (Director: William Dongois), as well as of the Concert Spirituel (Director: Hervé Niquet) and Arsys Bourgogne (Director: Pierre Cao) with whom she took part in numerous recordings. She has given organ and harpsichord lessons throughout Europe (France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Finland, Holland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland, Italy) as well as in Latin America. In 2000 she founded her own ensemble, Le Concert Lorrain, with whom she recorded the “Manuscrit des Ursulines de la Nouvelle-Orléans » by Lorraine composer Henry Desmarest for K617 recording label (released by Harmonia Mundi) which received a critical acclaim by the specialized press. Her latest recording, “Petits Motets” by composer Henry Madin and of chamber music by Nicolas Clérambault, released in September 2007 also for K617 recording label, obtained the French “Diapason d’Or” (Gold Tuning Fork) award in the category new discoveries, and was broadcast on France Musique on numerous occasions.
Anne-Catherine Bucher holds a qualifying title from the CNR in Nancy (the National Conservatory of Music for the Region) where she founded a course for the harpsichord and taught for ten years before being appointed to the CNR in Metz. She is regularly invited by international academies, and has given master classes in France, Poland, Mexico and Cuba. She currently lives in Metz, France. |
