The Amrican soprano, Jessica Beebe, studied at the Madeleine Choir School in Salt Lake City, Utah (Class of 2001). She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in choral music education from the University of Delaware in 2009. In 2007, she competed in an international choral competition in Tallin, Estonia, winning the Grand Prix. In 2012, she finished her degree as a Master of Music in Early Music Voice, studying with Paul Elliott and Costanza Cuccaro (September 2009-2012). In April 2012, she was awarded the Georgina Joshi Fellowship award at the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University. In Fall 2012, she started her DM in Voice and Opera.
Jessica Beebe has appeared as a soloist in the Requiems of W.A. Mozart, Gabriel Fauré, John Rutter and Maurice Duruflé; Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater; J.S. Bach's St. John Passion (BWV 245), Magnificat (BWV 243) and Mass in B Minor (BWV 232); Monteverdi's Vespro della Beata Vergine; and George Frideric Handel's Messiah, Dixit Dominus and Judas Maccabaeus, as well as in many other Baroque and classical works.
In June 2011, Jessica Beebe was a guest soloist in the annual Bach Festival of Philadelphia with the Choral Arts Philadelphia. In September 2011, she made her Indiana University Opera Theater premiere, as Despina in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte. Recently, she was a guest soloist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, as the soprano soloist for G.F. Handel's Messiah, and played the role of Alceste in a project of Lully's operas with the Early Music Institute. In summer 2012, she again was a guest soloist in the Bach Festival of Philadelphia. In Fall 2012, she performed the role Zerlina in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni at Indiana University.
In addition to solo work, Jessica Beebe enjoys performing in multiple choral and chamber ensembles. She is a member of the Concentus and Pro Arte ensembles, under William Jon Gray; The Crossing, under Donald Nally; and The Six, under Matthew Glandorf. She was soprano section leader at St. Mark's Episcopal Church (January 2003-June 2010). Since January 2010 she is soprano section leader at First United Methodist Church. |
