The German conductor, Antonius Adamske, received long piano lessons with the pianist and composer Bodo Frey. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover with the main conductor of choir and orchestra (Professor Walter Nußbaum, Heidelberg). Here he conducted György Liget's Aventures at the international musicology symposium "Ein Blinder im Labyrinth" (A Blind Man in the Labyrinth" (2014). He attended master-classes with Jan Scheerer, Manfred Schreier and Howard Arman; in the field of historical performance practice, as well as for contemporary music, he received personal impulses from Professor Jörg Straube (Würzburg, Hannover), Sabine Erdmann (for harpsichord, Berlin) and Andrea Marcon (Basel, Venice); He is currently studying Historical Organ at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Basel, Switzerland) with Professor Tobias Lindner.
Since his Hannover studies, Antonius Adamske has directed the 100-member Göttingen PetriChor as well as their offshoots - the Kammerchor St. Petri-Weende and the Collegium Vocale St. Petri. Several cantatas and oratorios, such as J.S. Bach, Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel, George Frideric Handel, Felix Mendelssohn, Spohr, Johannes Brahms, Max Reger, and others, were performed here. His partners were the Göttinger Symphonie Orchester for the romantic repertoire, and for early music, the Potsdam Baroque orchestra Musica Affettuosa Borussica or the Göttinger Barockorchester, to which he maintains a very close connection.
Since September 2014, Antonius Adamske has been teaching at the Universitätsmusik an der Technischen Universität Clausthal as an instructor for choral conducting. George Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess (Litton version) was the first re-enactment in the winter season. In the winter term, 2015-2016, two re-discovered Charpentier operas (Actéon, Orphée) were performed at the Kaiserpfalz Goslar.
Until 2016, Antonius Adamske was an organist at the Klosterkirche Nikolausberg, where, for the first time in September 2015, the annual Nikolausberger Musiktagetook place with national and internationally renowned ensembles. At the 2nd Nikolausberger Musiktage in 2016, he performed and recorded with the popular bass-baritone Henryk Böhm and the Göttinger Barockorchester the the J.S. Bach's Cantatas for bass solo, which was released in 2017.
At the Internationalen Händel-Festspielen Göttingen, Antonius Adamske worked as an assistant conductor of the artistic director Laurence Cummings. Shortly thereafter, he conducted the opera Armide by Jean-Baptiste Lully in a scenic production, given in collaboration with five well-known gourmets, including the television cook Jaqueline Amirfallah. The opera will be reissued in an international project of the Göttinger Barockorchester 2017 in France and the Czech Republic under Adamske's direction.
In 2016 Antonius Adamske was appointed by the Gesellschaft für christlich-jüdische Zusammenarbeit (Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation) to set a broadly effective choral project. He currently lives in Basel, Switzerland. |
