David Friedrich Teubner (Pastor, Bach's Pupil)

Born: April 17, 1707 - Hayna [Hain], Merseburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany
Died: September 2, 1761 - Wiederitzsch, Leipzig, Saxony, Germany

David Friedrich Teubner was born the son of Johann Thomas Teubner (Apr 30, 1675-Sep 28, 1733; Pastor in Hayna) and Maria Katharina Teubner (1679-unknown). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on May 21, 1721; studied there from 1721 to 1727; and at Universität Leipzig from 1725, obtaining his Magister degree in 1730. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he worked as Pastor in Großwiederitzsch, near Leipzig from 1732. He was married to Johanna Christiana Teubner (Nier (Jun 16, 1708-unknown) and had 6 children: Johann Carl Friedrich Teubner (Sep 22, 1733-Jun 23, 1794); August Friedrich Teubner (Nov 8, 1734-Aug 1, 1800); Wilhelm Friedrich Teubner (Dec 20, 1735-unknown); Carolina Friederica Teubner (Aug 11, 1737-unknown); Auguste Friederica Teubner (Augt 31, 1739) and 1 other
