Carl Friedrich Ernst von Lyncker (Chamberlain, Councilor, Bach's Pupil)

Born: February 8, 1727 - Ansbach, Middle Franconia, Bavaria, Germany2 or Vienna?, Austria1
Died: March 17, 1801 - Weimar, Thuringia, Germany

Carl Friedrich Ernst Freiherr von Lyncker was born the son of Ernst Christian von Lyncker (1685-1750; Legation Council in Ansbach) and Wilhelmina Friederica Elisabeth Freiin von Lyncker (1706-1778). He studied at Universität Leipzig (enrolled on June 13, 1746). After his studies, he worked as chamberlain, later government councilor at the court in Ansbach; from 1763 as landscape director at the court in Weimar; from 1775 as President of the Oberkonsistoriums (High Consistory) in Weimar (previously Vice President). He was married to Caroline Henriette Luise von Lyncker (1736-1808) and had two children: Amalie Freifrau von Fritsch (1756-1811) and Carl Wilhelm Heinrich von Lyncker (1767-1843).

Carl Friedrich Ernst von Lyncker is the nephew of the alleged early J.S. Bach's pupil Wilhelm Ferdinand von Lyncker (B-2) and was active in literary-artistic circles in Weimar. Classes with J.S. Bach during his studies in Leipzig around 1746 have so far been a mere guess by Hans-Joachim Schulze.
