The Polish composer and conductor, Ludwig Landshoff, had studied for time with Heinrich Urban (composition) and with Max Friedlaender and Oskar Fleischer (musicology). Then he went to Munich, where he continued his musicology studies under Adolf Sandberger and his composition studies, first with Ludwig Thuille and then with Max Reger.
Ludwig Landshoff was conductor in many places like Kiel, Breslau and Hamburg. From 1918 to 1928 he was director of the Münchner Bach-Verein.
His publications include: Kammerduette des 17 Jahrh e Englische Kanzonette von Haydn (1923). He also edited many performing editions of J.S. Bach’s works. |
