Samuel Gottlieb Heder was born to Johann Elias Heder (Pastor). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 18, 1725; studied there from 1725 to 1734; and at Universität Leipzig in 1734. He was one of J.S. Bach's main copyists from 1729 to 1731, then only occasionaly from 1731 to 1736, appearing in the manuscripts as Hauptkopist D; Anon. 7; Anon. 13. After his studies, he was court musician (tenor) in Merseburg (detectable in 1739). |
