Georg Friedrich Einicke was a German organist and Kantor. He was bor the son of Peter Einicke (Kantor, organist in Hohlstedt). He studied at the University of Leipzig (enrolled on May 6, 1732) and with J.S. Bach, from 1732 to 1737. From 1737/1738 he worked as Kantor in his native Hohlstedt. In 1746 he was appointed to a similar position in Bad Frankenhausen, and in 1757 became director musices (music director) at Nordhausen, where he remained for the rest of his life. In 1749-1750 he was briefly drawn into the controversy between Johann Adolph Scheibe and Bidermann regarding the merits of J.S. Bach as a composer, acting as go-between on behalf of J.S. Bach and his supporters.
In his autobiography in 1762, Georg Friedrich Einicke did not explicitly report on lessons from J.S. Bach, but wrote that he had dealt with music in Leipzig "vermittelst der Bekanntschaft mit den berühmten Capellmeistern, Bach und Scheiben" (through acquaintance with the famous capellmeisters Bach and Schiebe). He also maintained an exchange of letters with J.S. Bach in connection with the Biedermann dispute in 1749-1750 and had J.S. Bach's compositions, as was mentioned in 1755.
