Johann David Bauer (Bach's Pupil) |
Born: September 8, 1716 - Leipzig, Saxony, Germany
Died: not determined |
Johann David Bauer was born to Georg Bauer (bricklayer). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on June 13, 1730 and studied there from 1730 to 1732; since January 23, 1725 already as external. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. J.S. Bach (1729) had noted: “ not demonstrating abilities in music”; J.S. Bach (1730) “incompetent, not at all musical”. |
