History & Mission: |
Ciclo BACH y sus Cantatas (BACH and his Cantatas cycle) emerged over 2 years ago as an idea to stage the grand repertoire of Bach Cantatas underrepresented in Sevilla and safe enjoyment of music lovers and Bachians. Born as a gamble by the difficulty of the repertoire and the complications of running a project of this size without any budget. The cycle began in December 2010 with the presentation of Cantoría Barroca de Sevilla performing the famous Actus Tragicus BWV 106, and receiving very good impact. In January 2012 was followed by the action of the Coro de Cámara de Sevilla with Juan Antonio Pedrosa (Organ) and Andrés Cea (Positive Organ) among other distinguished instrumentalists and singers joined in this noble cause of staging the Cantatas of Kantor of Leipzig. Since then a total of 10 concerts have been offered with the participation of different ensembles in the region and highly regarded soloists. |
