The Argentine conductor, composer and researcher, Santiago Lusardi Girelli, started his studies in music and philosophy since he was young; his profile has been developed by these two paths of study. He studied Theology and Philosophy at the Argentinian Catholic University and the Universidad del Salvador (Buenos Aires, Argentina), he also studied Oriental Philosophies, Yoga and Meditation. He studied Orchestral Conducting in Buenos Aires at the UCA University and Choral Conducting at the Manuel Castillo Conservatory of Seville, Spain. Nowadays he is finishing the PhD in music at the University of Seville. He haS attended to several coral conduction courses and workshops with renown masters of different countries: José Carlos Carmona (Spain), Antonio Abreu (Venezuela), A. Alonso (France), Julio Domínguez (Spain) G. Céspedes (Colombia), N. Andrenacci (Argentina), W. Ptaff (Germany), and vocal performance with Mirella Freni (Italy).
Santiago Lusardi Girelli was a Choir and Orchestra conductor, performer, composer and scholar of theological philosophicaltraditions of the East and West. His work as a choir and orchestra conductor took place in the recent years in Argentina, Bolivia, Perú, Venezuela and Spain. In Bolivia he worked as the main conductor of the Orchestra San José de Chiquitos, located in the Chiquitania, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, with which he made national and international tours during 2007-2008 season. He worked within the Venezuela´s musical system (EL SISTEMA), invited as a conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra Hombres Nuevos during 2007-2008 season. He was also invited as a conductor in the National Youth Orchestra of Peru, the Imperial Orchestra from Cuzco (2008), and the Banuev´s Choir during the Youth International Meeting in Rome (2000).
Santiago Lusardi Girelli did several researches on Baroque vocal music of Moxos and Chiquitania´s archives in Latin-America, and he conducted brand-new musical pieces with his Coro de Cámara de Sevilla (Spain). He was Sub-director of the Seville's Orquesta Sinfónica Hispalense (Spain) and assistant conductor of the Coro de la Universidad de Sevilla. He was also conductor of the Coro de Cámara de Sevilla and Orchestra since March 2010. Hewas in charge of the presidency of the FESECO (Choir Federation of Seville).
Santiago Lusardi Girelli was appointed as the visiting researcher at Goa University in 2008. He took the Goa University choir from a random bunch of amateurs to a sparkling unit that delivered unforgettable concerts.
He passed away of COVID complications on May 19, 2021 at a hospital in South Goa, at the age of 41. He is survived by wife Clara and two children. |
