The Annual Bach Cantata Series
The Bach Cantata Series is incorporated into the liturgy of the Interdenominational Protestant Worship Service at 11:00 a.m.
The Bach Experience
Led by Music Director Scott Allen Jarrett, the Bach Experience at Marsh Chapel explores J.S. Bach’s musical world and theological connections. In a series of four talks, Dr. Jarrett and the Chapel Choir and Collegium will present four cantatas throughout the year in service and performance. As the largest portion of J.S. Bach’s compositional output, the sacred cantatas possess great insight and perspective on the week’s liturgy through sensitive musical expression.
On the Sundays of the Bach Cantata Series, Dr. Scott Allen Jarrett offers a 30-minute lecture exploring the musical and theological underpinnings of the day’s cantata. These lectures are free and open to the public. Complimentary breakfast follows the lectures and preceeds the worship service at 11:00 a.m. |
