The German soprano, Anja Zügner, born in Munich and grew up in the Bavarian Forest, received her first singing lessons at the age of 17. During her training as a speech therapist in Regensburg, the young singer received lessons with the soprano and voice teacher Miyase Kaptan-Borst in Passau, and reached a very great success at the 2002 Young Musicians Competition at the Federal level.
In 2002 Anja Zügner began her singing studies at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden with Professor Gisela Burkhardt-Mühlbach, and in 2005, with Professor Christiane Junghanns. Already during her undergraduate studies, she was actively involved with Lieder interpretation, and this led to graduate studies in the Lied and Concert class and continued with Professor KS Olaf Bär and Professor Christiane Junghanns. Important impulses in her Lieder and oratorio training, she received in master-classes at KS Peter Schreier, Christian Elsner and Ulrike Sonntag, and in the area of early music by Ludger Rémy, Jill Feldman, Barbara Schlick, and through her membership in the Dresdner Kammerchor (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann).
Anja Zügner is much sought after concert soloist and has already performed on several occasions with, among others, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Helmut Branny/Dresdner Kapellsolisten, Ekkehard Klemm/Singakademie Dresden, Matthias Jung/Sächsisches Vocalensemble, Ensemble Amarcord, and with Wolfgang Katschner/Lautten Compagney Berlin. Her extensive oratorio, Lieder and concert repertoire includes works from the Renaissance to the present. In 2006, she appeared at Kleinen Haus/Dresden as Oriana in Hochschulproduktion Amadigi by George Frideric Handel, under the direction of Axel Köhler, and the musical direction of Professor Hans-Christoph Rademann and since May 2009 appears there in the W.A. Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte in the role of Pamina.
Her first solo participation in radio and CD recordings are with MDR, RBB and Carus-Verlag label. Anja Zügner holds a scholarship from the DAAD and is winner of the Carl Maria von Weber scholarship. |
