The German choral conductor and organist, Torsten Wirth, completed his baccalaureate at the Privatgymnasium St. Paulusheim in May 2000. Already at 6 years of age, he received first piano lessons at the JMS Bad Schönborn. From 1995 to 1998, he studied church music in C-level in Karlsruhe with District Kantor Leo Langer (focus: organ, choral conducting and tuning).
From 1997 to 2000 Torsten Wirth acted as choir-master of the Kath. Kirchenchor St. Martin Zeutern. From 1998 to 2000, he received further organ lessons with Thomas Berning in Heidelberg. For 8 year, from May 2000 until his sudden death in May 2008, he was organist and choir-master of the St. Vitus-Chor Langenbrücken. Since October 2000 he studied at the Staatlichen Musikhochschule in Freiburg, music education and church music with, among others, Professor Helmut Deutsch (organ) and Professor Klaus Hövelmann (choral conducting). In parallel, he attended master-classes with Wolfgang Zerer, Bernhard Klapprott and Alan Wilson (England). Regular services and organ concerts in the Bruchsal region rounded his musical activities. |
