The St. Vitus-Chor Langenbrücken consists of 45 singers. The choir appears in services and concerts in the parish St. Vitus. The focus of the choir is in the performance of masses and free sacred choral works with and without orchestra. A particular focus of the choir is a-cappella singing. The repertoire includes numerous masses by Johann Ernst Eberlin, Hans Leo Hassler, J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, F. Schubert and others, several oratorio works of George Frideric Handel and Georg Philipp Telemann, as well as motets and cantiones from different eras. A special highlight was the 5-day choir tour to Paris in 2005 with a musical performance of a Sunday mass at St. Sulpice.
From May 2000 to May 2008 the St. Vitus-Chor Langenbrücken was directed by Torsten Wirth. Since September 2008 the director of the choir is Gabriele Roth. |
