The German German pianist and organist, Amadeus Webersinke, studied from 1938 to 1940 at the Institut für Kirchenmusik in Leipzig. Among his teachers there were Karl Straube, Johann Nepomuk David, and O. Weinreich. In 1950 he won, together with Karl Richter, the 1st Prize for organ at the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig.
Since 1946, Amadeus Webersinke was lecturer at the Leipzig's Musikhochschule (since 1953 professor for piano). Until 1953 he worked predominantly as organist; starting from 1953 exclusively as a pianist with numerous concert tours abroad, including Egypt, Bulgaria, CSSR, Austria, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Soviet Union, Hungary and the Federal Republic of Germany. He dedicated himself particularly dedicated to Bach organ and piano works and appeared also as a clavichord player. From 1966 he was teacher at the Dresden's Musikhochschule. |
