The German bass, Winfried Walter, is a founding member of the Katholischer Kirchenchor St. Sixtus Zunsweier and in 2002 took over the heading of the choir from Gert Walter, who had headed the choir for 31 years, since its re-foundation in 1971.
Winfried Walter sets the focus of his work in support of chorus-master whose quest for demanding choral music of different epochs, in the acquisition of new singers and the promotion of a good choir with a congenial climate events and excursions. It is important to him personally thorough singing, voice and knowledge of the "voice instrument" that singing would really emerge and sounds. Likewise, he values the preservation of knowledge of the rehearsed choral works and their intentions. This knowledge is used to help the choir director and graduate-musician Felix Ketterer, with plenty of pedagogical skill and humour.
Winfried Walter represents the Kirchenchor in the assemblies of the deanery. Since the founding of the Deanship Offenburg-Kinzigtal in 2008 he is the spokesman for the board members of the choir deanery.
As a bass singer, Winfried Walter performs solo in the Kirchenchor and in the surrounding region. |
