The German counter-tenor, Henning Voss, received in his youth instruction in piano, organ and singing. He studied first at the Musikhochschule Lübeck church music (b-examination), school music (1st state examination) and organ (soloist-diploma with Martin Haselböck). Subsequently, his studies led him to Bremen to the Akademie für Alte Musik (where he studied organ with Harald Vogel). Afterwards he studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, where he passed the church-musical A-examination (organ with Wolfgang Zerer) and singing (with Wilfried Jochens). He rounded off his training by participating in many master-classes.
Henning Voss works regularly in different ensembles with (Cantus Cölln, Wiener Akademie, Weserrenaissance Bremen, Lautten Compagney Berlin, etc) and is a founding member of the Hamburg vocal quintet Himlische Cantorey. In the past years he has interpreted the most important oratorio works of the Baroque period and participated in numerous broadcast and CD productions. In the Hamburg State Opera he participated in the year 2000 in a production of sacred cantatas of J.S. Bach. |
