Vocapella (Choir & Orchestra)

Founded: 1990 - Heidenheim, Germany

Vocapella was founded in 1990 by its current leader Marcus R. Bosch in Heidenheim near Brenz. The choir, whose driving power is the desire and enthusiasm of its members at the choir singing (the Vocapella Orchestra was attached a little later), the today's formation developed.

Both groups - the choir and the orchestra - consist of young engaged and talented amateurs, music students and professional musicians from Germany, the Benelux countries and Switzerland. The circle of the fellow players and singers has extended and strengthened in the past years in such a manner that now at last also concerts with heavier forces could also be organised to perform big-scale works. For example, in November 1996 Paulus Oratorium by Felix Mendelssohn, in 1998 George Frideric Handel's Messiah, in 1999 Johannes Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem), in 2000 F. Mendelssohn's Elias, in 2001 Psalmenvertonungen and last in 2003 the Mozart Requiem. In addition, the desire to give to the loose working group the framework of an association became reality in 1995.
