Vocanta - Erlanger Chor was founded in 1985 under the name "Grillensingtett" as small a-cappella choir under the direction of Joachim Adamczewski. The young choir already appeared in the same year several times. Since 1989, Vocante is a member of Fränkischen Sängerbund (FSB). Since 1990, the ensemble performs several times a year sacred and secular concerts and participates in community events as part of the FSB, since 1994 under the name "Kammerchor Erlanger Grillen".
In addition to various concert tours in Germany and abroad and the successful participation in several competitions, including the Landsausscheid des Deutschen Chorwettbewerbs (German Land Choir competition), Vocanta shows a strong presence primarily by its regular appearances in the Franconian region. Accompany each concert by regular radio and CD productions, the work of the choir has been documented for many years. In 2006 the choir received the Award of the Culture Foundation of the City of Erlangen. In mid-2008, the "Erlanger Grillen" received its new name "Vocanta". Today, the ensemble consists of about 50 singers. |
