The German choral conductor, Joachim Adamczewski, received his first major musical training as a singer in the Windsbacher Knabenchor under Hans Thamm. The a-cappella literature, the choral sound and the musical art formation by Hans Thamm effected him and gave him already at 15 years of age his first job as choir-master with MGV Gustenfelden. After graduating from the Musischen Wolfram-von-Eschenbach Gymnasium, he continued with a degree in solo singing with Professor Christa Degler and Mr. Capell, as well as studies of music education in Würzburg. During this time the Schwabacher Singkreis was founded under the direction of Joachim Adamczewski, and he had regular appearances as a Lieder singer and concert performer. However, his artistic focus was still on the chorus.
In 1985 Joachim Adamczewski founded in Erlangen, his new center of activity, a little young choir, which quickly became the Kammerchor Erlanger Grillen, today Vocante, has grown in the meantime and now also enjoys an excellent reputation far beyond the Franconian region. Since 1995, he also teaches at Christian-Ernst-Gymnasium in Erlangen.
The choir and its director were awarded in 2007 with the Promotion Prize of Erlangen's Culture Foundation, a public recognition of the city of Erlangen. |
