The Dutch soprano, Diane Verdoodt, studied singing at the Koninklijk Muziekconservatorium of Brussels with Louis Devos. She also studied with Professor Rudolf Bautz in Aachen, with Bernadette Degelin in Antwerp, and privately with Lucienne Van Deyck. She studies for diploma of Doctor for Music in Muziekconservatorium of Zwolle - Holland. She has Diploma of Master in Music.
Diane Verdoodt made her debut at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw with the Requiem of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and gave a recital with the tenor Ludwig Van Gijsegem, that was broadcast in the NOS-radio. Her performance of Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem brought her again to the Concertgebouw. She participated in radio programmes of BRTN, RTBF, and NOS and several CD recordings. Her recordings of the Puccini operas Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica, and Il Tabarro for Discover were received with great enthusiasm by the critics. She plans to record Carmen in Lisbon.
Diane Verdoodt's operatic repertoire includes the roles: Dido and Ænaeas (Belinda), Gianni Schicchi (Nella), Suor Angelica (La Prima Sorella & Un Suor & Cercatrice & Una Conversa), Il Tabarro (Voice of soprano), Nabucco (Fenena), Iwein van Aelst (Lauretta), Carmen (Micaela), Van alle tijden-van alle streken (Clenebejach), Faust (Marguerite), The Telephone (Lucy), Fidelio (Marzelline), Sokrates (Xantippe), l’Enfant et les Sortilèges (La Princesse & La Bergère), West Side Story (Maria).
Diane Verdoodt has participated in important European music festivals, such as: Festival M.A. Charpentier Versailles, Holland Festival, Festival de Wallonie, Festival van Vlaanderen, Charpentier Festival Arles... She has also taken part in international music festivals: Manila - Philippines. In 1998 she worked in Groningen in creating a new opera by Reynaert de Vos (Van alle tijden - van alle streken). In the year 2000 she performed the role of Micaela in the opera Carmen in Lisbon. Her ensemble La Gioia made a tour to Japan, and recently she completed a concert tour to South-East Asian countries. She made a big recital tour in Russia, resulting in new engagement by the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra (Berlioz Les nuits d'été). Her good singing technique and musicality enable Diane Verdoodt to cover a wide concert repertoire of all periods.
