Erlend Tyrmi (Baritone)

Born: Norway

The Norwegian baritone, Erlend Tyrmi, studied singing at The Royal Danish Opera Academy.

Erlend Tyrmi lives in Copenhagen, Denmark, and works as a freelance singer in a wide range of genres, from Baroque (J.S. Bach and Monteverdi) to romantic symphonic music and opera, and regularly performs concerts in Norway and Denmark. He has sung Baron Douphol in Opera Hedelands production of La Traviata, Cascada in The Merry Widow at the Royal Danish Opera, and Phoebus in Purcell's The Fairy Queen conducted by William Christie, as part of the prestigious Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. In 2011, he participated in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea organized by the Nordic Network For Early Opera.

Erlend Tyrmi has also performed as soloist with The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra, Norsk Barokkorkester, and the Copenhagen Royal Chapel Choir. He is also a member of Copenhagen Soloists (Director: Jonathan Ofir; singing both tenor and bass parts) and Ars Nova Copenhagen (Director: Paul Hillier).
