Vokalensemble Tonus (Vocal Ensemble)

Founded: Auumn 1997 - Graz, Austyria

The Vokalensemble Tonus: was founded in autumn 1997 by Herbert Bolterauer and currently consists of 16 members. The singers share a love of sacred music. The focus is on Early Music and contemporary compositions. Previous performances: Brockes Passion, HWV 48 by George Frideric Handel in Abendmusiken, Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) by J.S. Bach together with an instrumental ensemble on original instruments, Requiem in G minor by H.I.F. Beaver, Cantata Dixit Dominus by G.F. Handel, Markus-Passion by Reinhard Keiser (actually by Friedrich Nicolaus Brauns), Laudes Organi by Zoltán Kodály and Festival Te Deum by Benjamin Britten, various a capella programs. Recordings by the ORF.
