The Italian choral conductor, organist, harpsichordist and music teacher, Cristiana Spadaro, obrained her and Diploma of Organ and Organ Composition from the Conservatório "G. Tartini" in Trieste, Italy (1993); the Prix de Virtuosité in organ from the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève, Switzerland, under the guidance of Lionell Rogg (1998); her Music Degree in harpsichord from the Conservatório Superior de Lisboa , Portugal (2001); and her her PhD in Music (Performance - Choral Direction, with the thesis entitled "The motets of Giovanni Giorgi. Critical edition of twenty motets composed for the Patriarchal Basilica and Royal Chapel of Lisbon") from the Universidade de Aveiro (2017). She participated in several organ, harpsichord and conducting courses in Italy, Spain, Portugal.
Cristiana Spadaro is an organ, harpsichord and conducting teacher at the Conservatório Regional de Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal. In 2000 he founded the Grupo Johann Sebastian Bach – Associação Musical, for the study and dissemination of Early Music, becoming the conductor of the Coro Johann Sebastian Bach, belonging to the Homónima Associação. Since 2003 she has been Artistic Director and Conductor of Orfeão Edmundo Machado Oliveira with whom she explores a wide repertoire that ranges from folk music to contemporary music. She currently collaborates as a researcher at INET-md /UA e no INET-md (“Abordagens Históricas à Performance Musical”). She currently lives in Ponta Delgada, Azores. |
