The Israeli recordeer player and teacher, Inbar Solomon, obtained Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from the Buchman-Mehta Music Academy in Tel Aviv (guided by Bracha Kol); her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the Tel Aviv University; her Master of Arts degree in Music Performance from the Nürnberg Music Academy (guided by Jeremias Schwarzer); and her Master of Arts degree (cum laude) in Musicology from Tel Aviv University (in the field of Music Cognition). she has won excellence scholarships throughout her studies, from the German Koehler-Kast foundation, the America- Israel Cultural Foundation, Bnei Brit and the Buchman- Mehta Music Academy. She was a finalist at the International Israeli Music Competition in London and won the Contemporary Music Performance Competition at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.
Inbar Solomon performs both early music and Israeli/ international contemporary music in several ensembles. She collaborates with composers from Israel, USA, Japan, England and Argentina, and in the past years she premiered over 20 new solo & chamber music Recorder pieces dedicated to her. New pieces performed and recorded by her were published in many albums, and had their creators win important prizes, such as the Prime Minister Prize for Composers and ACUM Award.
Inbar Solomon performed in concert series in Israel, Germany, UK and Switzerland. She played in festivals such as the International Organ Week, Early Music Days and Contemporary Music in Germany. In Israel, she performed at the Felicja Blumenthal Music Festival, the Israeli Music Festivities, Haifa Sacred Music Festival, Vox Feminae Festival, the Opera Festival in Acre and the Yehiam Renaissance Festival. She played as a soloist with Kölner Akademie Orchestra and the Israeli Stage Orchestra, performed with the Israel Camerata Orchestra Jerusalem, Barrocade Orchestra, the 21st century Ensemble, In Camera XV Baroque Ensemble and the Israeli Women Composers & Performers Forum (latter two were directed by her for several years). She recorded for TV and radio channels in Germany and Israel..
During the period in which Inbar Solomon was the head of the Israeli Women Composers and Performers Forum, she significantly expanded the concert activity of this organization, brought its recognition to the public and contributed to the exposure of many composers and performers, through commissioning new pieces, creating concerts and promoting them. She was the artistic director, manager and producer of Vox Feminae Festival, initiated and managed a chamber music concert series about women musicians and was the editor of numerous radio broadcasts dedicated to the Forum members.
In parallel to her activity as a performer as well as a concert creator and producer, Inbar Solomon tutors Recorder teachers as a part of Karev Foundation’s teachers seminar programs (Ministry of Education). In the framework of the unique seminars she created, Inbar works with teachers` groups on the improvement of their technique and their performance abilities on the Recorder as their second instrument, enrichment of their knowledge and experience with Recorder repertoire, ensemble playing, conducting and pedagogical methodology of Recorder repertoire instruction and adjustment for young students. This project of hers has gain great success and is getting larger every year, both numerically and geographically. Inbar is also an instructor in national Recorder gatherings (formerly AYALA foundation). She instructs Recorder and Music Theory for individuals and groups, trains students for auditions and music final recitals at high schools as well as candidates for the Music Academy. She taught at the Ben Gurion High School and at the Rehovot Conservatory and collaborated with the Israeli Conservatory, Tel Aviv. She currently lives in Rehovot, Israel. |
