The German mezzo-soprano, Ludmila Schwartzwalder, discovered choral singing at the age of 10. She studied choral singing at Conservatoire de Montbéliard (2003-2010); obtained her Bachelor's degree in English, German and Swedish from the University of Strasbourg (2010-2013); her DEM degree (Diploma in Musical Studies) from the Conservatoire de Strasbourg (2010-2016; Unanimously with the congratulations of the jury); her Bachelor of Arts degree in Singing from the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (2016-2019). Currently she is a Master's student at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (class of Brigitte Balleys; 2019-2021).
Still fond of ensemble music, Ludmila Schwartzwalder joined several professional choirs in 2017, including Calliope Voix de femmes in Lyon (Director: Régine Théodoresco; since 2016), Ensemble Exosphère in Strasbourg (Director: Jean-Philippe Billmann; since 2017), Ensemble Diaphane (6-8 singers, self-managed ensemble without conductor; since 2017), Polhymnia in Genève (Director: Franck Marcon; since 2019), Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne (Director: Daniel Reuss; since February 2018). With these ensembles she has had the opportunity to work with great guest conductors such as Michel Corboz, Joshua Weilerstein, Jonathan Nott, Leonardo García-Alarcón, or Raphaël Pichon. Since January 2020, she has also been singing in the Choeur de l'Opera de Lausanne. An eclectic musician, she participates in several creations of contemporary music as a soloist and chorister, but also greatly appreciates the oratorio, which she sang as a soloist in works by J.S. Bach (BWV 146, BWV 12, BWV 170), Rossini (Petite messe solennelle), W.A. Mozart (Orgelsolomesse) and Haydn (Missa in Tempore Belli ) in 2018 and 2019.
Between 2013 and 2015, she sang in the Strasbourg experimental rock band Loomings, with which she recorded the album "Everyday Mythology" in 2015 (AltrOck Productions label). Wishing to bring her human commitment to her practice of music, she created in June 2019 for obtaining her Bachelor's degree the recital "Devoir partir" on the theme of migration and built around the creation of 4 melodies after Aya Mansour (young Iraqi poet and journalist ) by Pierre Landy. She currently lives in Lausanne, Switzerland. |
