The German soprano, Sara Magenta Schneyer, attended the Musische Gymnasium in Bamberg, where she received her first musical education in the subjects piano, violin and singing. As a semi-professional dancer, she starred in 2005 in the ballet The Nutcracker in the main role of Clara at E.T.A. Hoffmann Theater Bamberg and at the Schweinfurter Stadttheater. After graduation, she began her singing studies at the Musikhochschule "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden with Professor Christiane Junghanns, participated in several university productions there and was an active member and soloist of the Dresdner Kammerchor under the direction of Hans-Christoph Rademann for four years. One semester she studied with Professor Nicolas Domingues at the Conservatory in Montpellier, France and then in 2011, in connection with the exchange program at the Universität der Künste Berlin, in the classes of Professor Elisabeth Werres and Professor Anna Korondi. In 2010, she was awarded the 3rd Prize of the City of Perleberg during the Lotte-Lehmann-Woche. Various productions and master-classes led her to Professor Klesie Kelly, Baroque interpretation with Jeffrey Thompson or to Rostock, where she was heard during the summer campus 2013 under Helmuth Rilling in J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244). In May 2013 she sang in a production of "La Maison Voltaire" the role of Armenienne in Le Carnaval de Venise by A. Campra.
Sara Schneyer completed her studies in the summer of 2014 with a large part of the opera pasticcio Il teatro alla moda at the Schinkelhalle Potsdam and has since worked with various ensembles and orchestras at various locations throughout Europe. Some examples are the Prignitzer Theatersommer, I Confidenti Potsdam, Ensemble Sagittarius Dresden, Bundespolizeiorchester München, Berliner Kammerorchester, Sirventes Berlin, Hamburger Michel, Thomaskirche Leipzig, Sächsischen Kulturtage Breslau or the Deutsch-fFanzösische Christuskirche Paris
At the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang 2014 in Berlin, Sara Schneyer won the special prize for concert engagements, which was presented to her by Ingeborg Danz on behalf of the Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Stiftung Leipzig. This led her to many important J.S. Bach stations such as the Bachwoche Ansbach, Frauenkirche Dresden, and 2018 Bachfest Tübingen (Neue Bachgesellschaft: Bachfest). In the concert area she worked with musicians such as Helmuth Rilling, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Rudolf Lutz or Ludwig Güttler. She currently lives in Berlin, Germany. |
