The German violinst, Hartmut Schill,was born into a family of musicians in Leipzig. He began playing violin at the age of 5, and studied at the Spezialmusikschule "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. He continued his advanced studies later at the same conservatory, studying violin, chamber music, and counterpoint. He is a prize-winner in several international competitions as a chamber musician and a soloist.
Since finishing his studies, Hartmut Schill's special affection for chamber music remains strong, in particular quartet playing. Since 1997, he has held the position of concert-master of the Robert Schumann-Philharmonie and the first violinist of the Robert Schumann-Quartett. He has been a member of the Bayreuther Festspielorchester since 1999. |
