Yukie Sato (Soprano)

Born: February 14, 1987 - Koganei, Tokyo, Japan

The Japanes soprano, Yukie Sato, finished her Masters‘ degree (Baroque and Medieval) in voice at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in 2015. She has previously studied classical and Baroque singing at the Tokyo University of the Arts, before which she was active as a musical actor. She has studied singing with Midori Minawa, Yukari Nonoshita, Gerd Türk, Ulrich Messthaler and Dominique Vellard. She has been awarded several prizes both in Japan and internationally, such as the 1st prize of the 2nd International Early Music Vocal Competition “Canticum Gaudium” (Poznan, 2013) and the 1st prize of the 28th International Competition for Early Music (Yamanashi, 2015).

Yukie Sato has big passion and wide repertoire of medieval, renaissance, Baroque, classic, opera and contemporary music. She sings or has sung as a soloist in projects with Rinaldo Alessandrini, Andrea Marcon, Dominique Vellard (Ensemble Gilles Binchois) and Medro Memelsdorf (Mala Punica). She is a member of Sollazzo Ensemble (Director: Anna Danilevskaia), La Dolce Maniera (Director: Luigi Gaggero) and La Chapelle Harmonique (Director: Valentin Tournet).
