The German mezzo-soprano, Ruth Sandhoff, studied singing at the Colleges of Music Cologne and Freiburg with Professor Ingeborg Most. In 1993 she finished her university studies. She continued her training with Professor Anna Reynolds.
Ruth Sandhoff has had guest appearances at Oper Leipzig, Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Oper Köln, and Stadttheater Aachen. Her repertoire spreads from early Baroque (1998 concerts with Musica Antiqua Köln/Reinhard Goebel) up to premieres of contemporary composers. She has had numerous invitations to important music festivals, including amongs, Oregon Bach Festival 1996, Internat. Maifestspiele Wiesbaden 1996, Musique en Picardie, Festival van Flandern, Bach Festival of Philadelphia, European Musikfest Stuttgart 1997. Concert tours have led her to many European countries and to the USA. She has co-operated with the conductors Helmuth Rilling (Mass in B minor BWV 232, Matthäus-Passion BWV 244 in the USA), Jos van Immerseel, and Volker Hempfling.
