The Argentinean soprano, Silvina Sadoly, graduated from the Conservatorio Municipal de Música "Manuel de Falla with a gold medal in piano. She is also a graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón, where she studied vocal technique with Nilda Hoffman, Mirtha Garbarini and Aída Fileni. She extended her repertoire with Eduardo Ferracani, Susana Cardonnet and Esteban Collado. Later she turned to the study and interpretation of music from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. She became a member of the Coro Polifónico Nacional and the Estudio Coral de Buenos Aires directed by Carlos López Puccio. In 1990 she won the National Competition organized by the Coca Cola company in the area of Cassical Singing. Between 2000 and 2004 she taught courses in singing Baroque music workshops sponsored by the Fundación Antorchas.
Silvina Sadoly appeared at the Teatro Colón in the cast of the opera Orfeo by C. Monteverdi (2001), Las Indias Galantes by J.P. Rameau (2002), both conducted by Gabriel Garrido. A the same theatre she performed the oratorios Juditah Triumphans by Antonio Vivaldi and Athalia by George Frideric Handel with Festivales Musicales conducted by Mario Videla. She participated at the Festival Internacional de Música Barroca Latinoamericana Misiones de Chiquitos (Bolivia) in 2000, including with Elyma Ensemble (Switzerland) conducted by Gabriel Garrido, and performed and recorded a CD featuring the American Baroque opera San Francisco Xavier. With the same conductor, she performed at the Festival of Sacred Arts, held in Paris in 2001 at the Église Saint-Roch, with a repertoire of Latin American Baroque music. She participated as a soloist in the opera Armide by Gluck at the Teatro Colón in October 2003 under the baton of Carlos Lopez Puccio. She also participated in the Festival Internacional de Música Barroca Latinoamericana Misiones de Chiquitos in 2004 and 2006.
Silvina Sadoly has regularly attended the Festival Camino de las Estancias Jesuíticas (Córdoba), with groups as the ensemble Louis Berger (Ricardo Massun), Orquesta barroca del Rosario (Rodolfo Marchesini), Concerto Cima (Federico Ciancio), Orquesta barroca del Suquía (Manfredo Craemer) and Cappella Seicento (Federico Ciancio). She was one of the soloists in the Argentina premiere on original instruments of Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) by J.S. Bach under the baton of Manfredo Kraemer.
Silvina Sadoly is a member of Cappella Seicento (director: Federico Ciancio) performing 17th-century oratorios and 18th-century German music and the group Capilla del Sol / Grupo del Museo Fernández Blanco (director: Ramiro Albino) devoted to Latin American Baroque music. As a member of the group of soloists from the Sociedad Haendel de Buenos Aires, directed by Sergio Siminovich, she participated in the performance of oratorios and operas of G.F. Handel and Purcell.
From 2005 to 2008 Silvina Sadoly was a member of the faculty of early music; she recently founded the Municipal Conservatory "Manuel de Falla" in Buenos Aires. |
