The German mezzo-soprano, Alexandra Röseler, received her first musical education in the subjects piano and song under Anneliese Betz. In 1988 she was honoured by the Schiller Prize of the "Nationale Forschungs- und Gedenkstätten der klassischen Deutschen Literatur Weimar" .In 1992 she began studies in musical education at the University of Magdeburg.
At this time, Alexandra Röseler had already made her debut as a pianist, performing the Piano Concerto by Robert Schumann. As singer, she opened the "Tonkünstlerfesttage Sachsen-Anhalt" with a song cycle dedicated to her by Alexander Trinko. In 1994 she founded a concert series of her own. From 1996 to 2000 she studied singing under Chamber Singer Regina Werner at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. Furthermore she attended courses by Hermann Christian Polster, Helmuth Rilling, Bernd-Siegfried Weber and Georg Christoph Biller. During her studies she had already been employed as a vocal teacher at, among other places, the Thomanerchor in Leipzig, the Stadtsingechor Halle and the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk.
A brisk concert activity took Alexandra Röseler throughout Germany. In Japan she appeared in the Metropolitan Hall, on the occasion of the "Bach Fest Tokyo 2000", as alto in J.S. Bach's Markus-Passion (BWV 247). She is connected with the Thomanerchor and the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig by regular activities whereby; apart from Bach cantatas, she also performs contemporary music.
