The American bass, Kurt-Owen Richards, is A graduate of Indiana University School of Music.
Kurt-Owen Richards is an accomplished performer in an unusually wide range of styles, from chant and medieval liturgical drama to experimental music theatre. He is founding member of Lionheart, a six-voice men’s vocal ensemble dedicated to the exploration of chant and chant-related polyphony. In addition to over a decade of work the New York's Ensemble for Early Music, he performs regularly with such distinguished ensembles as the American Bach Soloists, the Waverly Consort and Pomerium. He is also frequent soloist, appearing with distinguished ensembles including the Musick’s Monument, Badinage, the Bach Ensemble, Concert Royal, Tafelmusik, and the New York Choral Society. Festival appearances have taken him to Spain, Portugal, Finland, Italy, and Israel.
Kurt-Owen Richards may be heard on Koch International releases of the American Bach Soloists' one-on-a-part recording of Bach cantatas and motets.
When not singing, Kurt-Owen Richards indulges his passion for computers by developing large EDI and RDBMS applications for the Manhattan law firm of Mendes & Mount, in co-operation with CitiBank and Lloyd's of London. |
