The Brazilian soprano, Caroline dos Santos Peres, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Singing at the Federal University of Pelotas - UFPEL / RS (2015-2018); and her Master of Music degree in Musical Performance and Expression from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMD (2018-2020). She was a researcher at CAPES - Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (September 2018-December 2020). She is currently a PhD student in Music in the Musical Performance research line at the at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais: Instituto Alpha (since February 2021), under the guidance of Professor Dr. Mônica Pedrosa de Pádua. Her research is developed in the area of Brazilian Chamber Song, more precisely approaching composers from Rio Grande do Sul.
Caroline Peres has taught singing at the Conservatório de Música da Universidade Federal de Pelotas (2010-2013); at the Escola de Belas Artes Heitor de Lemos in Rio Grande; and at Rass Escola De Música (March 2016-November 2017). In addition, she worked as a conductor and vocal trainer for the choir of the Associação dos Aposentados da Companhia Rio Grandense de Telecomunicações - AACRT (July 2017-July 2018).
In the field of performance, Caroline Peres has developed a repertoire of chamber and operatic music, participating in several recitals, concerts and competitions. She worked as a researcher at APHECAB, the Hermelindo Castello Branco Sheet Music Collection, a cataloging, analysis, interpretation and dissemination project of Brazil's concert song repertoire, coordinated by Professor Dr. Lenine Alves dos Santos (UFRJ). Currently, she is a substitute teacher for the Bachelor of Music course at the Universidade Federal de Pelotas and is part of the soprano section of Madrigal Concentus Musicum de Belo Horizonte (Since May 2019), under the direction of Maestrina Dr. Iara Fricke Matte. She currently lives in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gera, Brazil. |
