Christian Palberg (Bass)

Born: Germany

The German bass, Christian Palberg, began his singing career as a pupil of Bernd Kämpf in Neuwied.

As a permanent member of the Neuwieder Kammerchor an the Vokalensemble Köln (Max Ciolek), as well as a guest singer of other ensembles (for example, under Peter Neumann and Frieder Bernius), Christian Palberg has participated in numerous national and international concerts and CD productions, mainly in the area of early music. As a soloist he has already performed the role of Christ and arias in J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) and Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244), as well as the bass parts of the Mass in B minor (BWV 232), Brahms' Requiem, Monteverdi's Marienvesper and Messiah by George Frideric Handel. Beyond that he dedicates himself gladly to the interpretation of a-cappella-literature in small ensembles. In concerts of the Collegium Cantorum Köln he sang the Jesus part and bass aria in J.S. Bach's Markus-Passion (BWV 247).
