The German soprano, Anna Moritz, was a soloist at the Landesgymnasium für Musik in Wernigerode in the local Rundfunk-Jugendchor already during her schooldays. After that she began her singing studies at the Hochschule für Musik "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden. She also studied for a year at the Norges Musikkhøgskole in Oslo. She received guidance on interpretation from Roger Vignoles, Håkan Hagegård, Andreas Scholl and Wolfgang Katschner. She is currently receiving regular artistic support from Charlotte Lehmann in Hannover.
During her variety of soloist experiences, Anna Moritz was prize-winner at the Perleberger Lotte-Lehmann-Woche, finalist of the Gesangswettbewerbes Cantate Bach!, and sang CD productions with the Dresdner Knabenchor under Matthias Jung and Les Amis de Philippe under Ludger Rémy, asll as under Hans-Christoph Rademann and Konrad Junghänel. She gained operatic experience as Damigella in the university production of L'incoronazione di Poppea by C. Monteverdi and in George Frideric Handel's Belshazzar at the Oper Halle. As an actress she could be seen as Mariane in Molière's Der Geizige during the Batzdorfer Barockfestspiele as well as Vera in Fassbinder's Tropfen auf heiße Steine at the Theater im Volkspark in Halle (Saale).
As a founder of two of her own ensembles, Anna Moritz focuses on early music and opera. In addition, she is currently engaged by the vocal ensemble ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath), with which she appeared in concers at the Festival Ruhrtriennale. She was also a member of the Dresdner Kammerchor (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann). She currently lives in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt. |
