The German baritone, Ludwig Mittelhammer, studied singing at the der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and at the Bayerischen Theaterakademie August Everding with Professor C. Dutilly, H. Elbert, T. Truniger and Professor Frieder Lang. Master-classes with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Brigitte Fassbaender, Hedwig Fassbender, Ann Murray and Edith Wiens complemented his education.
From 2015 to 2017, Ludwig Mittelhammer was a member of the Opernstudios der Oper Frankfurt and there could be heard as Marullo in Rigoletto and Schaunard in La Bohème, among other roles. In 2014, he won first prize together with pianist Jonathan Ware at the Internationalen Wettbewerb für Liedkunst der Hugo-Wolf-Akademie Stuttgart and the Special Prize for Best Interpretation of a Goethe Song by Wolfgang Rihm at the Felix-Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Wettbewerb of the Universität der Künste Berlin. In 2015 he was awarded the Bayerischen Kunstförderpreis (Bavarian Art Prize) in the category "Performing Arts".
Ludwig Mittelhammer has collaborated with such conductors as Daniel Harding, Jaap van Zweden, Ulf Schirmer, Michael Hofstetter, Alexander Liebreich and Erwin Ortner and has performed with orchestras such as the Orchester de Paris, Bamberger Symphoniker, Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Orchestra Lirica del Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Kammerorchester des Symphonieorchesters des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Concerto Köln and Münchener Kammerorchester.
Recitals have taken him to Wigmore Hall in London, Kölner Philharmonie, Wiener Konzerthaus, Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven and Festival Kissinger Sommer. Since the 2017-2018 season, Ludwig Mittelhammer is a member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater Nürnberg. |
