The Americantenor, Trevor Mitchell, is best known for his work in oratorio and early music, Trevor Mitchell sings a wide range of classical music. Recently a critic wrote, "Simply the most uniquely beautiful and easily produced tenor instrument most people will ever hear. Known for his superb musicianship and interpretive skills, Mitchell, though concentrated in early music, is equally at ease in other musical periods. His singing engagements, both as a soloist and an ensemble member, have taken him virtually all over the USA as well as Italy, England, Austria, Ukraine and other places in Europe. He is a regular soloist at St. John Cantius in Chicago, a member of the professional nine-voice singing ensemble, Chicago a cappella and divides his time between it and solo engagements.
Recent engagements have included: J.S. Bach's B-Minor Mass (BWV 232), Magnificat (BWV 243), St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244), St. John Passions (BWV 245), Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) and Cantatas BWV 80 (Ein feste Burg), BWV 106 (Actus Tragicus) and BWV 214; Haydn's Die Jahreszeiten (The Seasons); Georg Philipp Telemann's Cantata BWV 160; George Frideric Handel's Messiah; W.A. Mozart's Requiem; Schubert's Der Hirt auf dem Felsen ("The Shepherd Upon the Field"); a recording of some W.A. Mozart’s masses as well as solo recitals. He toured five cities in Italy as tenor soloist with a concluding performance at the Vatican City. |
