Tbhe Chilean soprano, Nora Miranda, studied at the Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile with Fernando Lara. In 1998 she won 1st place in the II International Lyric Singing Competition “Ciudad de Trujillo”, Peru. Altazor Award 2003, together with the Ensamble Contemporánea, conducted by Aliosha Solovera.
Since graduating, Nora Miranda has specialized in Renaissance, Baroque and contemporary music, participating in various courses in Chile, Argentina, France and Germany. She was a member of the Camerata Vocal de la Universidad de Chile (Director: Juan Pablo Villarroel), where she served as Vocal Instructor in the Coro Sinfónico She has worked as a professor in the singing department at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Nora Miranda is currently a member of the group Camerata Misional Andina, a group made up of prominent musicians from the field of early music in Chile, directed by Cristian Gutiérrez. She has performed as a soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Chile, Orquesta Universidad de Santiago, Orquesta Juvenil de Santiago, Orquesta de Cámara de Chile and Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla (Spain). In the groups: MusicAntigua de la Universidad Católica, Concerto Vocale, Syntagma Musicum, Ensamble Contemporáneo and Les Carillons. With Les Carillons he participated for four consecutive years in the Festival de Música Renacentista y Barroca Misiones de Chiquitos, Bolivia. In 2005 and 2007 she traveled to Spain with the same group performing concerts in Seville, Cádiz, Córdoba and Huelva. In 2005 she was invited by the Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla (Spain) to perform Stabat Mater by L. Boccherini in El Escorial.

Nora Miranda has recorded with the ensembles Les Carillons, Estudio MusicAntigua, Ensamble Contemporánea, Terra Australis and with guitarist Carlos Pérez. With Terra Australis she recorded the DVD “De Amor y de Fuego” (Of Love and Fire), released in March 2011. |
