The Brazilian cunter-tenor, Paulo Macedo Mestre, has developed an important career as a soloist, standing out in international performances in several cities in France, Germany, USA, Canada, Israel, Portugal, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Argentina, among others.
Paulo Mestre has also been performing as a soloist with important orchestras such as Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, Orquestra do Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, Orquestra da USP, Sinfônica do Rio de Janeiro, Orquestra Petrobrás, Orquestra da Paraíba, OSPA, among others. He has performed under the conductors por Marin Alsop, Roberto Minczuk, Silvio Viegas, Julio Moretzsohn, Carlos Prieto, Aylton Escobar, Cristina Banegas, Ricardo Kanji, Homero Magalhães Filho, Manfredo Kraemer, Nicolas Rauss and Nicolau Figueiredo. He was the protagonist of C.W. Gluck's opera Orfeo ed Euridice in Mendoza, as Speranza in C. Monteverdi's L'Orfeo in Rio de Janeiro and in Curitiba, as Ptolemy in George Frideric Handel's opera Giulio Cesare in Egitto, in M.A. Charpentier's opera Actéon in Curitiba, in H. Purcell's Dido and Aeneas with Cia Minaz. In Brazil he has also appeared in festivals of early music. |
