The German choral conductor, Manfred May, passed the state exams in music, sports, philosophy and pedagogy, and had Kapellmeister studies with Professor Dr. Dieter Loskant, the general music director Professor Philipp Wüst, Professor Siegfried Köhler and the former Leipzig Thomaskantor Kurt Thomas.
Until 1998 Manfred May worked alongside his extensive work as a conductor specialist as Head of Music at the Staatlichen Studienseminar in Trier. Since 1992 he is involved in regional politics and culture, especially for cultural events in historical monuments of his native city.
Manfred May is the choir director and founder of Trierer Konzert- und Kammerchor. In 1991 he received the Federal Cross of Merit for his outstanding achievements in the area, and in 1994 he received a letter of honour for excellence from the city of Trier |
