The American baritone, conductor, librarian, and music educator Devin R. Mariman, is the son of Marvin Arthur and Dorothy Grace Mariman. He obtained his Bachelor of Musi degree from Bradley University (1987); and his Master of Music degree in Voice and Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College of Rider University (1990).
Devin Mariman performs regularly both as a singer and a conductor. As a baritone soloist, he has appeared locally in recital and in concert with various choral and orchestral groups, including the Dreyden Ensemble, Fuma Sacra, Philadelphia Classical Players, Philomusica, Tabor Consort, Westminster Community Orchestra and other local ensembles for various works including Ralph Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs and Dona Nobis Pacem, Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, and J.S. Bach's St. John Passion (BWV 245), St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244), Magnificat (BWV 243), and various cantatas. His major stage role has been that of Falke in Die Fledermaus, and he is a founding member of the early music ensemble Fuma Sacra.
Devin Mariman was Conductor of Garden State Philharmonic Chorus, Toms River, New Jersey (1988-1999). He directs the Westminster Community Chorus and Chamber Choir located in Princeton, New Jersey, and the Philadelphia Biblical University Community Chorus. He was also Director of Music at Trinity United Methodist Church, Ewing, New Jersey (1988-1991).
Devin Mariman served as Director vocal division New Jersey Governors School of the Arts, Trenton (1991); Coordinator performance collection at Westminster Choir College, Princeton (since 1992), Adjunct Professor of Voice (since 2000); Adjunct Professor of Conducting at College New Jersey, Trenton (1990-1992); Westminster Conservatory, Princeton (since 1998). He has taught students from elementary through high school in various capacities including choral director for the New Jersey Governor’s School of the Arts, and chorus master for the Westminster Conservatory's Children’s Opera. He is currently an adjunct assistant professor of voice and conductor of the Westminster Conservatory Community Chorus and Chamber Choir Westminster Choir College. He has also led music in church settings and devised thematic sacred programs that have been presented at Westminster Choir College and Princeton Theological Seminary. He is also Adjunct Professor at Caitr University, School of Music since 2009.
Devin Mariman married Lori Ann Utterback Lesage on September 29, 1984 (division February 1988). They have 1 child Jessica. He married Rebecca Mariman (neé Rebecca Lynn McDonald) on August 10, 1991. Their children: Nathaniel, Rachel, Bethany, Matthew, Gloria. |
