The Spanish baritone, Oriol Mallart Vallmajó, began musical studies in Girona at the Musical Classroom and at the Conservatory of Music, with the specialty of piano. He trained Marta Mathéu, and has received advice from Marcel Boone, Lambert Climent, Clemens Morgenthaler, Sigfried Gohritz, Josep Bros, Francisco Poyato, Viviana Salisi and Alan Branch. Since 2014, he he is studying Higher Vocal Training at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC) in Barcelona, with Mireia Pintó.
Among his most recent performances, Dietrich Buxtehude's Membua Jesu Nostri stands out and with Bach Zum Mitsingen he has performed as soloist in J.S. Bach's Cantatas BWV 12, BWV 45, BWV 72, BWV 198 and BWV 39, the latter also at Toulouse Bach Festival - Passe ton Bach d’Abord. In opera, he played the role of Bartolo in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro and Belcore's in L'Elisir d'amore and at the same time inaugurated the 'Nits de Clàssica' festival in Girona.
Oriol Mallart is a member of several vocal ensembles avd choirs: Cantant solista (since January 2014), Coro Victoria (since November 2017), Ensemble O Vos Omnes (since August 2018), Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe); since October 2018); Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música Catalana (since December 2018), La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall; since June 2019), and Bach Collegium Barcelona (since 2018; Director: Pau Jorquera). He currently lives in Barcelona, Spain. |
