In April 2011, the Bach Zum Mitsingen (= BZM) project was initiated, an integral cycle of the J.S. Bach cantatas in a participatory format, an initiative unpublished in Catalonia, aimed at singers with musical training and choral experience. The main characteristics of this initiative are that the liturgical date for which J.S. Bach wrote each cantata is always respected and that the music is interpreted with Baroque instruments and historical criteria. The works are offered in emblematic churches of Barcelona, such as the Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar or the Catedral de Girona, and in the framework of other events such as the Toulouse Bach Festival - Passe ton Bach d'Abord or the BACHcelona: Festival Bach de Barcelona, created in July 2013 by Bach Zum Mitsingen.
The project is made up of professional musicians and singers, whose main structure includes the Cor de cambra BZM and the BZM Ensemble, , who assumes the instrumental accompaniment of all the cantatas with Baroque instruments. Pau Jorquera and Daniel Tarrida are the founders and directors of the Bach Zum Mitsingen. |
