The German bass, Peter Lika, had his first notable success as a boy soloist with the Regenburg Cathedral Children’s Choir. He studied singing at the Munich Academy.
Peter Lika began to gain experience as a bass singer in successful concerts at the early age of 18. He sang many opera parts under renowned directors. Meanwhile, he is working as a freelancer and has made the concert his main field of activity, which brings him to the great music centers of Europe, to international festivals (including Salzburg, Vienna, Prague, Berlin), to China, Japan, the USA, South America, Canada, or Israel.
Peter Lika has sang under the direction of such conductors as Sergiu Celibidache, Rafael Kubelík, Kurt Masur, Roger Norrington, Marcello Viotti, John Eliot Gardiner, Cambreling, Janowski, and Michael Gielen. He has been involved in many radio and television productions and has several recordings to his name.
Peter Lika's repertoire comprises works by Monteverdi, J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, Haydn, L.v. Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn, as well as compositions by Igor Stravinsky, Oskar Gottlieb Blarr, Penderecki, Arnold Schoenberg, or Heinze. |
