The Polish soprano, Ewa Justyna Leszczyńska, comes from a family of great musical traditions. Her mother is the fanous pianist Ewa Pobłocka. She graduated from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk in the piano class of Professor Jerzy Sulikowski. At the same Academy she began her vocal studies with Professor Zofia Janukowicz-Pobłocka, to continue her education at Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan with Professor Margharet Hayward. An enthusiast of vocal music, she also enjoys performing chamber music with singers and instrumentalists. She sings in duo with the bass Gianluca Buratto, with whom she received the Rotary prize in 2008, and also performs with Katarzyna Trylnik, Davide Fior, Joanna Freszel. As early as in her school years she was a prize-winner at many festivals and competitions. She participated in master-classes conducted by such eminent singers as Prof. J. Artysz, H. Muller-Molinari, Teresa Żylis-Gara, Teresa Berganza, U. Kryger, Charlotte Lehmann, Jadwiga Rappé, Olga Pasiecznik, Ewa Podleś, Thomas Quasthoff, Deborah York; and pianists: P. Gould, D. Baldwin, Professor K. Jankowska, Professor K. Borucińska, Professor M. Nosowska, L. Giergieva, H. Höll, K. Kammerlander, David Dolan. From 2007 to 2010, she was member of Laboratorio Interdisciplinare di Musica e Spettacolo (Limes) in Milan, taking part as a singer, actress and dancer in the following theatre and opera performances: La Sagra della Primavera conducted by P. D’Ascola with the choreography by S. Magniani, Idillio d’amore fra pastori directed by F. Crivelli, and Ivresses directed by P. D’Ascola.
As a singer, Ewa Leszczyńska performed the solo part in W.A. Mozart's Exultate Jubilate in Milan (2010), presented complete songs by Frédéric Chopin at a concert recorded for the Vatican TV in Milan, performed the soprano part in the concert aria by W.A. Mozart - Ch’io mi scordi di te? - in Gdańsk with the Baltic Philharmonic (2010). In the same year she took part in the stage performance of the excerpts from Membra Jesu Nostri by Dietrich Buxtehude in Lugano.
In 2012, performing as a singer with the pianist Tomasz Pawłowski, Ewa Leszczyńska won the first prize at the Giosuè Carducci Competition in Madesimo. At the same competition she reached semi-finals as a pianist. She has received the scholarship of the Polish Institute in Vienna, enabling her to participate in the International Baroque Music Courses - Austria Barock Akademie in Gmunden, where she worked under eminent artistic personalities from the Baroque music circles: Rubén Dubrovsky, Ilia Korol, Deborah York and Lydia Vierlinger. She received the ABA Award at the Baroque Music Competition in Austria. In 2013 she performed in a concert at Radiokulturhouse in Vienna with Joanna Kaniewska and, together with Les Roses Sauvages ensemble, took part in the "Dunkle Zeiten Wien" project presented in Off Theater.
In 2015, she sang the main roles in the world's first performance of the opera "Der 13 Sternbilder aus dem Wallis" in Switzerland. In 2016, she played one of the main roles in the opera by Leonardo Vinci Semiramide riconosciuta in Poland. She collaborates regularly with ensembles such as Les Roses Sauvages, Arte dei Suonatori and Musica Florea Praha (Director: Marek Štryncl), and often takes part in festivals in Europe. In 2016, she toured the USA as a member of the "Multi" trio. |
