The Austrian tenor and lautenist, Mario Lesiak, completed classical guitar studies; in 2016 he joined at Johann-Joseph-Fux Konservatorium in Graz to learn to play the Renaissance lute and archlute with Barbara Muschick. He is still attached to the delicate stringed instruments today and - true to historical practice - also accompanies himself at performances. At the same institution, he completed his vocal training at the Department of Early Music with Professor Tanja Vogrin and participated in numerous master-classes with Barbara Fink, Emma Kirkby, Julian Prégardien, Daniel Johannsen, Pascal Bertin, and many others.
Mario Lesiak performs regularly in the Graz area, but also at international music festivals such as Styriarte or the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht. He has
been a member of Ensemble Gioia since 2013. Numerous concert tours have also taken him to Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic. He is currently a private student of tenor Daniel Johannsen. |
