The American soprano and istructor of voice and piano, Kristin Bell Lelm, studied at East Peoria Community High School. She grasuated in 2007 from Bradley University, where she had studied vocal performance with Dr. Kerry Walters and performed with the Bradley Chorale and Chamber Singers. She was a winner of the Bradley Symphony Orchestra Concert-Aria Competition and won the 2007-2008 Presser Award. She obtained her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from DePaul University, under the study of Jane Bunnell (2007-2009).
Kristin Lelm has participated in DePaul’s operas of: Purcell’s Fairy Queen, was cast as Sister Genevieve in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and as Euridice in Monteverdi’s Orfeo. In March 2009, she performed the role of Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel where it was performed at the Reskin Theater.
Kristin Lelm has worked as Piano Teacher at St. James Lutheran Church and School in Chicago, Illinois (August 2007-June 2010); Supplemental Member at Grant Park Music Festival (June 2012-June 2016); Guest with Peoria Municipal Band in Peoria, Illinois (since 2003); Church Soloist at St. James Lutheran Church and School (since September 2007); Soprano - Regular Member with Chicago Symphony Chorus under Under the direction Riccardo Muti (since September 2009; including performance at Carnegie Hall in April 2011 and October 2012); Private Piano and Voice lessons in Chicago (since September 2010). |
