The American baritone, Aaron Larson, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1995-2000; teacher Ilona Kombrink); and his Master Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from Boston University (2000-2002; teacher William Sharp).
Aaron Larson has garnered notice for his dynamic stage presence, musical versatility, and artistic insight. Recent concert performances include J.S. Bach’s Mass in B minor (BWV 232) with VocalEssence and Lyra Baroque Orchestra (2011), J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion (BWV 245) with the Bach Society of Minnesota (2015), the world premier of Paulus’ When Church Bells are Ringing with the Minnesota Orchestra, and many appearances with the Waverly Consort. Recent opera performances include the title role of Georg Philipp Telemann’s comic opera Pimpinone with Lyra Baroque Orchestra (2009), Le Dancaire in the Minnesota Orchestra’s staging of Georges Bizet's Carmen (2006), and Ruggiero in Francesca Caccini’s La Liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola d’Alcina with the New York Continuo Collective (2007).
